Eenie, meenie, miny, mo... Games and toys of long ago

A playful exhibition to rescue the games of yesterday from oblivion through a singular display where both grown-up and the little ones will share a playful and exciting experience.

Guided by the hand of the painter and collector Puri Sánchez, we will immerse ourselves into the fascinating traditional games world. Our starting point will be the pictorial work of Puri, who recreates in her canvases the children’s games of her childhood in a village close to Salamanca. Our exhibition tries to recover those wonderful and magic moments of our childhood, with the nostalgia of past experiences and also with the feeling of recovering them for the new generations.

Therefore, “Eenie, meenie, miny, mo...” is conceived as a playful exhibition where games will come alive before our eyes: we are going to play, sing, jump and laugh again. Spinning tops, windmills and marbles will suddenly appear in our hands. And we will dance again to songs we thought we had forgotten.

Puri Sánchez told us she never knew what the expression “being bored” meant. Maybe this is a good opportunity to show the children other playful choices to spur their imagination and involvement. Perhaps, even if only for a short while, we will stop hearing the same old story: “Mum, I’m bored”.
