Birds, travellers without borders

Birds constitute the bastion of our fauna, and they have always been among the most harmed species in any aggression that nature has suffered. On the other hand, they are the main motivation among people who are interested in the observation of wild fauna, since its condition of flying animals make it easy to observe them. The beauty of their feathers and the remarkable variety of species, also make them worthy of a great number of unconditional followers, denominated ornithologists, who do not hesitate in making long trips to enjoy even if it is only for a few moments to observe some rare species.

This hobby of the observation of birds is deep rooted in the Anglo-Saxon countries, and mainly, in England, from where -every year- numerous ornithologists visit us, in very well organized groups that systematically cross the most interesting places of our country searching for species that can only be found in Spain within the European continent. Examples like the black vulture, the imperial eagle, the black stork or rabilargo are only a few within the wide variety that hoards our ecosystems. In Spain, this increases every day; fortunately, although without getting to the same level as our European neighbors, the number of followers of ornithology and, parallely, the demand of declaration of new protected areas for birds.

With the exhibition TRAVELLING WITHOUT BORDERS it is being intended to motivate the interest for the ornithology, mainly among the youngest people. Here, we offer information to enable visitors to practice it. Letting know the most important places for the birds of Iberian Peninsula, and displaying images of a great number of the most beautiful ones.
